Health effects

Eyes: May cause some irritation with repeated or prolonged exposure

Respiratory system: May cause some irritation with repeated or prolonged exposure

Ingestion: It is unlikely sufficient could be ingested to cause permanent damage

Skin: May cause some irritation with repeated or prolonged exposure

 

4.FIRST AID MEASURES

Skin contact: Remove any contaminated clothing, wash skin with water. Staining of the skin will occur which over time is sweated and exfoliated. If symptoms (irritation) occurs, seek medical attention

Eye contact: Irrigate the eye with water for 15 minutes. If there is any irritation, seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove from exposure

Ingestion: Do not make the casualty vomit. If conscious give plenty of water to drink followed by milk of magnesia

If unconscious do not give anything by mouth, place in the recovery position and obtain medical attention.

Extinguishing media: Product is non flammable.

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with an inert absorbent material. Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal

Handling precautions: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not drink, eat or smoke whilst handling this product.

Suitable materials: Various rubbers (seek manufacturers advice), polypropylene, uPVC, PVC, PVDF, HDPE

Materials to avoid: Steel, copper, aluminium, cast iron, stainless steel and most common metals

Oxidising agents: Hypochlorites react to liberate chlorine gas, hydrogen peroxide will evolve oxygen gas

Other chemicals: Dissolves steel, iron and copper. Avoid contact with ethyl chloride

Products: If heated to decomposition will emit fumes of chlorine and chlorides
